This trip is going to be lead by American Hiking Guides Association certified guide Carmen Hallock and assisted by AHGA Guide Nancy Probsfield. The trip will explore the Bear Creek Hollow Area in the Ozark National Forest, southwest of Pelsor, Arkansas. This is going to by one of our exploration trips which will be in a mostly unexplored and untouched area of the Ozarks. This is a moderate to strenuous hike, so fitness will be important as you will have to navigate steep terrain, stream and creek areas, around waterfalls and there will be NO trails. This will be a two day trip, with Saturday night being spent in the wilderness.
Carmen will meet you Saturday morning at the Casey’s in Ozark, Missouri, located at the intersection of US 65 and Missouri 14 at 0700 hours and carpool from there. You can also meet Carmen and Nancy at the convenience store in Jasper, Arkansas between 0815 and 0830. We should be out of the wilderness by around 1500 hours on Sunday.
