2012 Outdoor Rendezvous

Satori Adventures and Expeditions is proud to be hosting and organizing the 3rd Annual Hiking the Ozarks Outdoor Rendezvous, October 12-14, 2012 at  Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, located near the Buffalo National River, in Jasper, Arkansas. This event will bring together outdoor enthusiasts from all over the Midwest for networking, camping, education and enjoying the outdoors. We will be offering various educational classes, which will include basic rock climbing group classes and individual rock climbing classes with Satori Adventures and Expeditions rock guide Krista Bowman from Canada, plus several other outdoor educational classes and guest speakers.   There willl also be hikes on some of the area’s greatest trails and locations, including the Hemmed in Hollow Falls, Twin Falls at Richland Creek,  the Eye of the Needle and others.  There will be great raffle prizes from some name brand outdoor companies, booths to check out all the latest gear and a chance to meet other outdoor enthusiasts from all over the United States.  Cost for the event is $30.00, which gets you into all the classes, access to all the guided hikes, covers your day use fee from Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, access to the booths and entry into the raffles and door prizes. Horseshoe Canyon Ranch offers camping for $5.00 per night and also has a limited number of cabins for rent. They also have a restaurant on the ranch, along with a gear shop. 0900 hours: Hemmed in Hollow Hike: (6 miles, moderate hike, with water crossings)

0900 hours:  Big Bluff via the Goat Trail: (7 miles, moderate hike, water crossings)

0900 hours:  Hawkbills Crag: (3 miles, easy hike)

1300-1600 hours:  Basic Rock Climbing Class:  (Class size limited to 12, must register to attend)

1600-1700 hours:  Winter Backpacking/Hiking Class (Barn)

1800-1845 hours:  Outdoor Cooking and Food Preparation Class (Pavillion)

1845 hours:  Meet and Greet and Raffle Prizes (Pavillion)

0700 hours:  Twin Falls at Richland Creek (7 miles, difficult hike)

0800-1130 hours:  Basic Rock Climbing Class:  (Class limited to 12, must register to attend)

0800 hours:  Eye of the Needle Hike (6 miles, difficult hike)
