This class is a must for anyone who spends time in the outdoors, from hikers and backpackers to mountain bikers, to canoe and kayak and horse back riders. The Advanced Survival Class is phase II of our survival training and includes a review of previous information and training, followed by an outdoor experience in a survival situation. The purpose of this class is to teach each student how to stay, warm, dry and safe in the outdoors through the use of proper gear. The Land Navigation class will cover the basic use of topographical maps and a compass. The class will cover basic map nomenclature, proper use and reading of maps, orientating your map, taking a bearing from a map, identifying terrain from a map and transferring this over to real life situation. This is a condensed version of the two day wilderness first aid class that is centered around the most common injuries and medical issues that may arise while in the wilderness.
