UPDATE:  December 3, 2016 This trip is going to be lead by Nancy Probstfield and will begin at the Richland Creek Wilderness Area Campground.  From there she will lead you on some of the OHT Section 8, before then taking you off trail to explore several areas, including Dry Creek, Long Creek, Punch owl Falls and some others areas.  This will be a partial trail and partial bushwhack trip, so fitness will be important.  This trip will be in the…

The Advanced Survival Class is phase II of our survival training and includes a review of previous information and training, followed by an outdoor experience in a survival situation. Leatherwood Wilderness Area

The Leatherwood Wilderness Area is one of the largest continuous forests in the eastern United States and is an amazingly beautiful, wild and rugged place.  There are no maintained trails in this vast area, but there are a few horse trails that we will use from time to time along with bushwhack hiking through the area.  We will explore numerous waterfalls, bluff lines and streams along the way, but due to the rough and rugged terrain physical fitness is important. …
