The Ozark Mountain Trailblazers Club and its members are a group of outdoor enthusiasts whose mission is to bring people together to help make the Ozark Mountains play a larger role in the lives of everyone. We try and accomplish this through social contact, by bringing like-minded outdoor enthusiasts together to enjoy the company of other backpackers, hikers and trekkers.
Additionally, the group’s advocacy and education efforts also teach low-impact practices and provide a variety of outdoor education and safety skills that outdoor enthusiasts can use whenever they hit the backwoods. We are always looking for new members and encourage anyone with a love for the outdoors and of any skill level to join and be part of something special. While backpacking and hiking are the group’s specialty, we also participate in rock climbing, caving, canoe/kayak and orienteering. We are also on Facebook and YouTube.
The Nomad Achievement Award of the Ozark Mountain Trailblazers, is a way to identify individuals who have achieved a superior level of success within the Ozark Mountain Trailblazers and more importantly within themselves. This level of achievement is predicated in their hardwork and dedication and is represented in the number of miles they have logged with the Trailblazers. This award is accomplished in levels ranging from 100, 250, 500 and 1,000 miles. Recipients are recognized within the group and get to proudly display a patch on their jacket or backpack to represent their achievements.
