Buffalo River Trail (Ponca to Kyles)

This is the second phase of the Buffalo River Trail and my favorite part. The trail starts on the west side of the Arkansas Highway 74 bridge in Ponca and winds along the Buffalo River to the Steel Creek Recreation Area and then continues along the bluffs over looking the Buffalo River.

This part of the trail provides some of the best vistas and views of the Buffalo River area, along with traveling along several feeder streams and around numerous rock formations. This part of the trail provides views of the Big Bluff, the Goat Trail and large amounts of wildlife to include Bald Eagles in the winter months. The trail is marked and maintained well, but there are a couple of nice size hills to climb that will get your heart pumping.
