This is a very nice trail that offers two loops, the Pedestal Rocks Loop and the Kings Bluff Loop that together total about 4 miles. The trail is marked, maintained and relatively easy, but is surprisingly fun and full of incredible rock formations including pedestals, bluffs and even an arch. The trail winds along the top of several great bluff (use caution, the bluffs can be dangerous). Along the trail, there are numerous rock formations including numerous pedestals that are just amazing.
On the Kings Bluff side of the loop, you are again exposed to Pine Forests and some amazing rock formations, but also the Kings Bluff and the Kings Bluff Falls. The Kings Bluff is a huge slab of rock that sits on top of a tall blluffline, with a stream running over it. This stream creats a waterfall of some 70 feet in height. This is truely a special place and a great day hike.
The turnoff for Pedestal Rocks is located off of Scenic Hwy 7 on Hwy 16, just East of Pelsor/Sand Gap. This intersection is located approx. 28 miles north of Dover (near Russellville) and approx. 28 miles south of Jasper on Scenic Hwy 7. Turn East onto Hwy 16, and go approx. 5.9 miles to the entrance on your right.
